Cookery demonstrations, cupcakes and fascinating speakers lined up for June
June
sees an exciting line of guest speakers and activities open to the public at
Fernhill House.
Head
chef Chris Williams, who has worked with Heston Blumenthal and Marco Pierre
White, will be hosting two cookery demonstrations.
On Tuesday June 6th
at 11am the focus is on starters, while on Tuesday June 13th he
looks at main courses and desserts. Both events are free.
Two
activities are taking place on Thursday June 15th. Chris’ homemade cakes and a delicious range of teas and coffees will
be available in the beautifully designed bistro on The Alzheimer's Society Cupcake Day between 2pm and 4pm.
Just pop in and help us raise money to fight dementia. Staff will also be
bringing in home-made cupcakes to support the day.
In the evening,
between 6 and 8pm, Tori James, who at 25
became the youngest British woman to reach the summit of Mount Everest, will
talk about her many extreme adventures in sub zero temperatures.
Tori was
part of the first ever women’s team to tackle a 360 mile race to the magnetic
north pole, some of which was through polar bear territory, and has cycled the
length of New Zealand.
The free
talk is accompanied by drinks and nibbles.
Finally,
on Thursday June 29th, former Yorkshire solicitor Ian Shuttleworth
gives an observational comedy talk on life in general. Again, the event is free
and accompanied by drinks and nibbles.
Book
your places for any of these free events (with the exception of the cupcake day,
which is a pop in activity) at info@fernhillhouse.co.uk
